UBS Rep Scott Rosenberg: Multiple Options Overlay Complaints

Scott Rosenberg (CRD# 2754292), a broker and investment adviser based in New York, New York, has received more than a dozen investor complaints, according to records maintained by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. While many of the complaints concerning UBS’s Yield Enhancement Strategy are pending, one recently settled for more than $1 million in damages.

The most recent pending complaint against Scott Rosenberg was filed in December 2021. It alleges that recommendations to invest in and hold an options overlay strategy were unsuitable and misrepresented. The complaint alleges $8 million in damages.

A May 2020 complaint detailing the same allegations seeks $420,000 in damages.

Another complaint about the options strategy was filed in May 2020 and concerned a time frame starting in 2017 and ending in 2020. This reached a settlement of $1.1 million.

A March 2020 complaint alleges that Scott Rosenberg, while registered with UBS Financial Services, unsuitably recommended the options overlay strategy and provided misleading information regarding it. This complaint seeks $1.5 million in damages. Another March 2020 complaint concerning the strategy seeks $1.2 million in damages.

One customer filed a complaint about the allegedly unsuitable, misrepresented options strategy in October 2019, specifying a time frame of 2016 until the present. This customer is seeking $6.5 million in damages in the pending complaint.

Another customer filed a complaint listing the same allegations in June 2019, this one seeking $6 million in damages.

Scott Rosenberg has been registered with UBS Financial Services as a broker and investment adviser since November 2015. His previous registrations include Credit Suisse Securities in New York City, Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette Securities in New York City, and Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette Securities in Jersey City, New Jersey.
