Anthony Gallea: Options Complaints Against Pelican Bay Group Advisor

Hendersonville, North Carolina financial advisor Anthony Gallea (CRD# 713980) has received investor complaints relating to an allegedly unsuitable options trading strategy. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is a broker and investment advisor with Morgan Stanley, whose website shows that he is a member of Pelican Bay Group Wealth Management.

Mr. Gallea’s BrokerCheck report discloses two pending investor complaints. The most recent, filed in May 2022, alleges that as a representative of Morgan Stanley, he recommended an unsuitable options trading strategy between 2018 and 2022. The pending complaint alleges unspecified damages. A second complaint, filed in April 2022, similarly alleges that he recommended an unsuitable options trading strategy between 2019 and 2021, also alleging unspecified damages. Both complaints are pending.

His BrokerCheck report also discloses two complaints that were denied by the firms that received them, a term that signifies the firm’s own ruling that they were meritless. A complaint filed in January 2022 alleged he misrepresented an options strategy while at Morgan Stanley, while a 2001 complaint alleged he made unsuitable transactions while at Salomon Smith Barney. Again, both complaints were denied.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Anthony Gallea holds 41 years of securities industry experience. Based in Hendersonville, North Carolina, he has been a broker and investment advisor with Morgan Stanley since 2009. He is a member of Pelican Bay Group Wealth Management at Morgan Stanley. His past registrations include Citigroup Global Markets in Naples, Florida and Lehman Brothers in New York City. His credentials include the passage of six securities industry qualifying examinations: the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Interest Rate Options Examination, or Series 5; the National Commodity Futures Examination, or Series 3; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63; and the Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination, or Series 65. He holds 56 state licenses. (Information current as of June 22, 2022.)
