Benchmark Investments financial advisor Robert Rasbach (CRD# 1204704) has received an investor complaint alleging six-figure damages. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is a broker based in New York City, having formerly been registered with David Lerner Associates in Westport, Connecticut.
Mr. Rasbach’s BrokerCheck report discloses one recent investor complaint against him. Filed in March 2022, the complaint alleges that as a representative of David Lerner Associates, he breached his fiduciary duty, made misrepresentations and omissions of material information, and recommended unsuitable investments in Energy 11 and Energy 12 private placements. The pending complaint alleges damages between $100,000 and $499,000.
In a statement on the complaint’s disclosure, Mr. Rasbach wrote that the allegations “do not include misappropriation, forgery, theft or conversion of funds or securities.”
A second investor complaint, filed in 2018, alleged that as a representative of David Lerner Associates, he recommended an unsuitable investment in a mutual fund product. The complaint alleged $14,820 before it was denied by the firm.
According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Robert Rasbach holds 22 years of securities industry experience. Based in New York City, he has been a broker with Benchmark Investments since 2021. His past registrations include David Lerner Associates (Westport, Connecticut; 2000-2021) and IDS Marketing Corporation (1983). His credentials include the passage of four securities industry qualifying exams: the Investment Company Products/Variable Contracts Representative Examination, or Series 6; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; and the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63. He is licensed in California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, South Dakota, and Vermont. (Information current as of July 28, 2022.)
