Apryl Waldman: $40K Bond Complaint Against Monecito Advisor

A recent investor complaint against Bellingham, Washington financial advisor Apryl Waldman (CRD# 4653460) alleges improper recommendations of risky investments. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that she is a broker and an investment advisor with Centaurus Financial, doing business as Montecito Financial Services.

Ms. Waldman’s BrokerCheck report discloses one investor complaint. Filed in July 2023, it alleges that as a representative of Centaurus Financial, she made an improper investment recommendation involving a “high-risk and illiquid” corporate bond investment. The pending complaint alleges damages of $40,000.

As outlined in FINRA Rule 2111, this rule states that they may only recommend their customers invest in products and strategies that are appropriate for the customers’ individual investment profiles. Based in Bellingham, Washington, she has been a broker and an investment advisor with Centaurus Financial since 2019, doing business as Montecito Financial Services. Her registration history includes Moody Securities (Houston, Texas; 2015-2019), Terra Capital Markets (New York, New York; 2014-2015), US Sterling Securities (Hauppage, New York; 2012-2013), Hedgelab Capital Management (Seattle, Washington; 2009-2012), Cazenave & Company (Westminster, Colorado; 2009-2011), Lightstone Securities (New York, New York; 2005-2009), Kelmoore Investment Company (Palo Alto, California; 2004-2005), and National Planning Corporation (Los Angeles, California; 2003-2004).
