Gretna, Louisiana financial advisor Tim Peyton (CRD# 1773817) recently received an investor complaint alleging his conduct resulted in six-figure damages. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is a broker with Crown Capital Securities.
Mr. Peyton’s BrokerCheck report discloses multiple investor complaints. The most recent, filed in December 2021, alleges that as a Crown Capital Securities representative, he recommended unsuitable investments including a non-traded real estate investment trust, failed to conduct proper due diligence, over-concentrated the investments in the account, and failed to disclose risks. The pending complaint alleges damages of $750,000.
An earlier investor complaint, filed in 2001, alleged that as a Salomon Smith Barney representative, he churned investments in the customer’s account. In 2002 the complaint reached a settlement of $17,000.
A third investor complaint, filed in 2000, alleged that he made unsuitable and unauthorized trades in the customer’s account. The complaint reached a settlement of $16,435.66.
A fourth investor complaint, filed in 1999, alleged that as a representative of Salomon Smith Barney, he recommended an unsuitable stock investment. The complaint reached a settlement of $6,000.

Based in Gretna, Louisiana, he has been a broker with Crown Capital Securities since 2012. His past registrations include National Securities Corporation (New Orleans, Louisiana; 2007-2012), Gunnallen Financial (2004-2007; Metairie, Louisiana), Continental Broker-Dealer Corporation (Carle Place, New York; 2001-2004), Salomon Smith Barney (New York, New York; 1993-2001), Lehman Brothers (New York, New York; 1990-1993), FN Wolf & Company (1988-1991), and Sherwood Capital (1987-1988). His credentials include the passage of three securities industry qualifying exams: the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; and the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63.
