Overland Park, Kansas investment advisor Chris Weeks (CRD# 5463406) recently received an investor complaint alleging that his conduct resulted in six-figure damages. Securities and Exchange Commission records show that he is currently registered with Creative Planning, having previously been registered with Northwestern Mutual Investment Services.
Mr. Weeks’ Investment Adviser Public Disclosure discloses one investor complaint. Filed in February 2024, it alleges that as a representative of Creative Planning, he breached his fiduciary duty, acted negligently, and violated the Kansas Securities Act in connection with options trades between June 2018 and June 2023. The pending complaint alleges damages of $800,000.
Creative Planning’s website includes a profile of Mr. Weeks that describes him as a Wealth Manager and Partner at the firm. “Chris serves as a Wealth Manager for Creative Planning. Utilizing a disciplined approach, he works with clients to design and implement strategy to address their most complex goals and needs,” it states. “Chris practices in the areas of investment management, retirement planning, estate planning, tax planning, business succession planning, risk management, and charitable planning.”
According to the Securities and Exchange Commission, Chris Weeks holds 16 years of securities industry experience. Based in Overland Park, Kansas, he has been registered as an investment advisor with Creative Planning since 2015. His past registrations include Northwestern Mutual Investment Services (Leawood, Kansas; 2014-2015 and 2008-2013) and American Century Investment Services (Kansas City, Missouri; 2013-2014). His credentials include the passage of five securities industry qualifying exams: the General Securities Sales Supervisor – Options Module Examination, or Series 9; the General Securities Sales Supervisor – General Module Examination, or Series 10; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; and the Uniform Combined State Law Examination, or Series 66.
