Curtis Mason: GWN Securities Denies $77K Complaint Against Advisor

Palm Beach Gardens, Florida financial advisor Curtis Mason (CRD# 3246419) recommended an unsuitable investment, according to a recent investor complaint. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is currently registered as a broker and an investment advisor with GWN Securities, doing business as Mason Financial.

Mr. Mason’s BrokerCheck report discloses two investor complaints. The most recent, filed in February 2024, alleges that as a representative of GWN Securities, he recommended an unsuitable investment that he “would not let the client sell.” The complaint alleged damages of $77,000 and was denied by the firm.

A second investor complaint, filed in 2009, alleged that as a representative of AXA Advisors, he misrepresented material facts in connection with the sale of two variable annuity products. The complaint alleged unspecified damages and was denied by the firm.

Mason Financial’s website includes a description of the firm’s mission and approach. “Our services cover all areas of financial management, from investment and retirement planning to risk management and estate conservation,” it explains. “We specialize in helping our clients develop a comprehensive, cohesive financial strategy that fits their unique needs and enables them to meet both short- and long-term objectives.”

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Curtis Mason holds 21 years of securities industry experience. Based in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, he has been a broker and an investment advisor with GWN Securities since 2012, doing business as Mason Financial. His past registrations include Legend Equities Corporation (West Linn, Oregon; 2010-2012) and AXA Advisors (West Linn, Oregon; 2002-2010). His credentials include the passage of three securities industry qualifying exams: the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; and the Uniform Combined State Law Examination, or Series 66. He is licensed in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, New York, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Virginia, and Washington. (Information current as of March 5, 2024.)
