Marion Adams: FINRA Bars Ex-Raymond James Advisor

Former Mobile, Alabama financial advisor Marion Adams (CRD# 1392435) has been sanctioned in connection with alleged misappropriation of client assets. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that the former Raymond James broker was most recently registered with The Jeffrey Matthews Financial Group.

A Letter of Acceptance, Waiver, and Consent (No. 2021073056501) published on March 5, 2024 describes FINRA’s action against Mr. Adams. In December 2023, it explains, the regulator sent him a request to appear for on-the-record testimony as part of its review of his 2021 resignation from Raymond James. He “refused to appear” for the requested testimony on February 6, 2024, and notified FINRA via counsel the following day that he would not appear for such “at any time.” According to FINRA, his refusal constituted violations of FINRA Rules 8210 and 2010. As such, it barred him from associating with any FINRA member in any capacity.

Mr. Adams’ BrokerCheck report discloses his resignation from Raymond James & Associates. Filed in October 2021, it states that he resigned in connection with allegations by the executor of an estate that he “may have misappropriated client assets.” A complaint regarding the same allegations was filed and closed that same year.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Marion Adams holds 38 years of securities industry experience. He was most recently registered as a broker with The Jeffrey Matthews Financial Group in Mobile, Alabama from 2022 until March 2024. HIs past registrations include Raymond James & Associates (Mobile, Alabama; 2013-2021) and Morgan Keegan & Company (Mobile, Alabama; 1985-2013). His credentials include the passage of six securities industry qualifying exams: the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the National Commodity Futures Examination, or Series 3; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the Investment Banking Registered Representative Examination, or Series 79TO; the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63; and the Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination, or Series 65. He is not currently registered as a broker or an investment advisor. (Information current as of March 6, 2024.)
