Mitchell Walk: Suitability Complaint Against Kestra Advisor

Longwood, Florida financial advisor Mitchell Walk (CRD# 3195375) allegedly recommended unsuitable investments, according to a recent investor complaint. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is currently registered as a broker with Kestra Investment Services and an advisor with Kestra Advisory Services, doing business as Retirement Wealth Specialists.

Mr. Walk’s BrokerCheck report discloses several investor complaints. The most recent, filed in February 2024, alleges that as a representative of Kestra Investment Services, he recommended unsuitable direct investments. The pending complaint alleges damages of at least $5,000.

An earlier investor complaint, filed in 2017, alleged that as a Kestra representative, he recommended unsuitable direct investments and real estate securities. In 2018 the complaint reached a settlement of $14,999.

A third investor complaint, filed in 2016, alleged that as a Kestra representative, he misrepresented material facts related to “the sale of various alternative investments.” In 2018 the complaint reached a settlement of $52,500.

A fourth investor complaint, filed in 2013, alleged that as a representative of NFP Securities, he recommended unsuitable alternative investments. In 2014 the complaint reached a settlement of $77,500.

Retirement Wealth Specialists’ website includes a profile of Mr. Walk in which he describes his background and approach. “I love helping my clients responsibly manage their hard-earned money,” he states. “I regularly read publications and meet with leading industry financial managers to discuss market trends and expectations. According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Mitchell Walk holds 24 years of securities industry experience. Based in Longwood, Florida, he has been a broker and an investment advisor with Kestra since 2001 and 2016, respectively, doing business as Retirement Wealth Specialists. His registration history includes NFP Advisor Services (St. Augustine, Florida; 2004-2016), Asset Management Partners (Longwood, Florida; 2000-2012), and Securities America (La Vista, Nebraska; 2000-2001). His credentials include the passage of four securities industry qualifying exams: the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination, or Series 65; and the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63.
