A recent investor complaint against Los Angeles financial advisor Jeffrey Werdesheim (CRD# 1892046) recently received an investor complaint alleging that his conduct resulted in damages exceeding $900,000. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Oppenheimer & Company.
Mr. Werdesheim’s BrokerCheck report discloses multiple investor complaints. The most recent, filed in September 2024, alleges that as a representative of Oppenheimer & Company, he recommended unsuitable investments, acted negligently, breached contract, and breached his fiduciary duty. The pending complaint alleges damages of $940,941.
In a statement included with the pending complaint’s disclosure, Mr. Werdesheim defended himself against the allegations. “Claimant alleges he should have made more profit in the conservative strategy he selected,” he writes. “I deny the allegations and will vigorously defend myself.”
An earlier investor complaint, filed in 2014, alleged that as a representative of Oppenheimer & Company, he misrepresented and omitted material facts relating to an investment. The complaint alleged unspecified damages and was denied by the firm.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Jeffrey Werdesheim holds 35 years of securities industry experience. Based in Los Angeles, California, he has been registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Oppenheimer & Company since 2003 and 2007, respectively. His past registrations include Oppenheimer Asset Management, Fahnestock Asset Management, CIBC World Markets, and Lehman Brothers. His credentials include the passage of four securities industry qualifying exams: the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the National Commodity Futures Examination, or Series 3; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; and the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63.
