Ken Hamada: Avantax Advisor Landed REIT Complaint

A recent, denied investor complaint against Prescott, Arizona financial advisor Ken Hamada (CRD# 2661699) alleges that he recommended unsuitable investments. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Avantax, doing business as Hamada Wealth Management.

Mr. Hamada’s BrokerCheck report discloses one recent investor complaint. Filed in January 2025, it alleged that as a representative of Avantax Investment Services, he recommended unsuitable investments in REITs and an interval fund. The complaint alleged damages of $96,000 and was denied by the firm.

Hamada Wealth Management’s website includes a profile of Mr. Hamada that describes his experience and services. “For the last 24 years, through a holistic goals-based financial planning approach, Ken has assisted clients through various stages and needs within their lives,” the profile explains. “From wealth accumulation, to income planning distribution in retirement, to setting up charitable gifting strategies, to assisting in setting up a client’s estate planning wishes, saving for college, or to just knowing you are on the correct path to having a potentially comfortable retirement… all of these are important to Ken.”

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Ken Hamada holds 26 years of securities industry experience. Based in Prescott, Arizona, he has been registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Avantax since 2022, doing business as Hamada Wealth Management. His past registrations include Woodbury Financial Services (2022), Independent Financial Group (2014-2022), LPL Financial (2002-2014), and UBS Painewebber (1998-2002). His credentials include the passage of five securities industry qualifying exams: the General Securities Principal Examination, or Series 24; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination, or Series 65; and the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63.
