Nashville, Tennessee financial advisor Troy Tremblay (CRD# 4625407) has received multiple investor complaints alleging that he recommended unsuitable investments. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Centaurus Financial, doing business as Tremblay Financial Services.
Mr. Tremblay’s BrokerCheck report discloses three investor complaints. The most recent, filed in February 2025, alleged that as a Centaurus representative, he recommended “unsuitable, high-risk, illiquid investments in corporate bonds.” The pending complaint alleges damages of $88,000.
A second investor complaint, also filed in February 2025, alleged that he misrepresented a high-risk, illiquid preferred stock as well as a fixed indexed annuity annuity with high surrender charges. The pending complaint alleges damages of $393,613.
A third investor complaint, filed in 2017, alleged that as a Centaurus Financial representative, he misrepresented and recommended unsuitable investments. The complaint reached a settlement of $60,000.
In statements included with all three complaints’ disclosures, Mr. Tremblay wrote that he “vehemently” denied the allegations, which he described as meritless. “The investments about which the customers complained were suitable and were recommended based on the customer’s objectives, goals and financial circumstances and were offered only after their review of all material documentation related to the investment,” he wrote with respect to the two pending complaints. “At all times, I put the customer’s interest first and I will vigorously defend this matter to the fullest extent of the law.”
Tremblay Financial Services’ website includes a profile of Mr. Tremblay in which he describes his services and philosophy as a financial advisor. “I enjoy helping clients have peace of mind,” he writes. “I am most satisfied when I am able to alleviate any financial or investment stress or worry that a client illustrates when we first meet. It’s good to hear that a client can ‘sleep at night’ now that they have completed our financial plan with me.”
According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Troy Tremblay holds 21 years of securities industry experience. Based in Nashville, Tennessee, he has been registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Centaurus Financial since 2003, doing business as Tremblay Financial Services. He was previously registered with Washington Square Securities in Windsor, Connecticut in 2003. His credentials include the passage of three securities industry qualifying exams: the Uniform Combined State Law Examination, or Series 66; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; and the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7.
