Dunn, North Carolina financial advisor Bron Thompson (CRD# 4350479) has received multiple investor complaints relating to investments in GWG Holdings. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is registered as a broker with Capital Investment Group and an advisor with Capital Investment Advisory Services.
Mr. Thompson’s BrokerCheck report discloses five investor complaints. The most recent filed in February 2024, alleges that as a representative of Capital Investment Group, he breached his fiduciary duty, fraudulently misrepresented material facts, used unfair or deceptive trade practices, and committed fraud in connection with investments in GWG L bonds. The pending complaint alleges damages of $336,002.44.
A second investor complaint, also filed in February 2024, similarly alleges that as a Capital Investment Group representative, he negligently misrepresented material facts, breached his fiduciary duty, breached contract, violated Regulation Best Interest, and acted negligently in connection with the recommendation of investments in GWG Holdings. The pending complaint alleges unspecified damages, though it notes that the customer alleges $200,000 of lost principal.
A third investor complaint, filed in October 2023, alleges that he breached his fiduciary duty and violated Regulation Best Interest in connection with a GWG Holdings investment. The pending complaint alleges damages of $100,000.
A fourth investor complaint, filed in 2022, alleged that he breached his fiduciary duty, misrepresented material facts, and used unfair or deceptive trade practices in connection with investments in GWG Holdings. In May 2024 the complaint reached a settlement of $95,000.
A fifth investor complaint, filed in 2017, alleged that he misrepresented an investment in an exchange-traded fund. The complaint reached a settlement of $5,682.52.

Based in Dunn, North Carolina, he has been registered as a broker with Capital Investment Group and an advisor with Capital Investment Advisory Services since 2014. He was previously registered with Wells Fargo Advisors in Wilmington, North Carolina from 2001 until 2014. He is licensed in Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Missouri, North Carolina, and Texas.
