Cynthia Magner: Ameriprise Advisor Lands $100K Annuity Complaint

Concord, New Hampshire financial advisor Cynthia Magner (CRD# 2591698) allegedly recommended an unsuitable variable annuity investment, according to a recent investor complaint. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that she is registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Ameriprise Financial Services.

Ms. Magner’s BrokerCheck report discloses one investor complaint. Filed in June 2024, it alleges that as a representative of Ameriprise Financial Services, she recommended an unsuitable variable annuity. The pending complaint alleges damages of $100,000.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Cynthia Magner holds 27 years of securities industry experience. Based in Concord, New Hampshire, she has been registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Ameriprise Financial Services since 2003 and 2006, respectively. Her registration history includes IDS Life Insurance Company (Minneapolis, Minnesota; 2003-2006) and Scudder Investor Services (New York, New York; 1995-2001). Her credentials include the passage of five securities industry qualifying exams: the Investment Company Products/Variable Contracts Representative Examination, or Series 6; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63; and the Uniform Combined State Law Examination, or Series 66. She is licensed in Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Florida, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, and Virginia.
