Monroe, Louisiana financial advisor Darren Oglesby (CRD# 2480135) recently received an investor complaint alleging he made unsuitable investment recommendations. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is the president of Oglesby Financial Group and registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Money Concepts.
Mr. Oglesby’s BrokerCheck report discloses multiple investor complaints. One of the most recent, filed in October 2021, alleged that as a representative of Money Concepts Capital Corp., he recommended unsuitable alternative investments whose risk he failed to disclose. In July 2022 the complaint reached a settlement of $47,250.
A second investor complaint, filed in May 2022, alleged “unsuitability and negligence” connected with the purchase of an alternative investment. The complaint alleged $50,000 and was later withdrawn by the customer.
According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Darren Oglesby holds 27 years of securities industry experience. Based in Monroe, Alabama, he has been registered as a broker with Money Concepts Capital Corp. since 1995 and as an investment advisor with Money Concepts Advisory Service since 2005. He is the president and CEO of Oglesby Financial Group. His past registrations include Fortis Investors (Oakdale, Minnesota; 1995) and NYLife Securities (New York, New York; 1994). His credentials include the passage of four securities industry qualifying exams: the Investment Company Products/Variable Contracts Representative Examination, or Series 6; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; and the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63. He is licensed in Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, and Washington.
