San Diego, California financial advisor Don Wells (CRD# 1217316) recently received an investor complaint alleging that his advice resulted in six-figure damages. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Realta Equities and Realta Investment Advisors, respectively, having previously been registered with Titan Securities.
Mr. Wells’ BrokerCheck report discloses multiple investor complaints. The most recent, filed in October 2024, alleges that as a representative of Titan Securities, he recommended unsuitable investments. The pending complaint alleges damages of $170,000.
An earlier investor complaint, filed in 2022, similarly alleged that as a Titan Securities representative, he made unsuitable recommendations involving alternative investments. In 2023 the complaint reached a settlement of $90,000.
A third disclosure on his BrokerCheck report concerns a sanction by the Washington Securities Division. Filed in 2016, it alleged that he violated state securities law “by misrepresenting or failing to disclose material information in connection with the sale of [Life Partners, Inc.] life settlements.” It alleged further that he sold unregistered securities, and that he was unregistered as a securities salesperson or broker-dealer at the time he sold the settlements. In connection with these findings, he was ordered to cease and desist from further violations and fined $2,450.
