Jon Lee: Investor Files Complaint About Eagle Advisor

Sarasota financial advisor Jon Lee (CRD# 2354294) has received an investor complaint alleging his investment advice resulted in damages of more than half a million dollars. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is a broker and investment advisor with AAG Capital, Accurate Wealth Management, and Eagle Wealth Advisors.

Mr. Lee’s BrokerCheck report discloses several investor complaints against him. The most recent, filed in April 2022, alleges that as a representative of Aegis Capital Corp., he committed fraud, breached contract, breached his fiduciary duty, and acted negligently. (For reference, the fiduciary standard requires investment advisors to place their clients’ interests above their own, fully disclose any conflicts of interest, and operate in good faith and with loyalty to the customer; this is similar to but distinct from the suitability standard that applies to brokers.) The pending complaint alleges damages of $650,000.

A second investor complaint, filed in April 2001, alleged that he erroneously represented that an annuity transfer would not have a surrender charge. The complaint reached a settlement of $16,654.78.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Jon Lee holds 28 years of securities industry experience. Based in Sarasota, Florida, he has been a broker with AAG Capital since 2022. He has also been an investment advisor with Accurate Wealth Management since 2022 and with Eagle Wealth Advisors since 2020. His past registrations include Aegis Capital Corporation, JHS Capital Advisors, Gunnallen Financial, Citigroup Global Markets, Legg Mason Wood Walker, and Raymond James & Associates. His credentials include the passage of five securities industry qualifying exams: the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Futures Managed Funds Examination, or Series 31; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63; and the Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination, or Series 65. He is licensed as a broker and investment advisor in Florida. (Information current as of July 17, 2022.)
