An investor complaint against Mooresville, North Carolina financial advisor Garrett Moretz (CRD# 4086791) alleges that an investment in GWG L bonds resulted in six-figure damages. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is a broker and an investment advisor with LifeMark Securities.
Mr. Moretz’s BrokerCheck report discloses one investor complaint. Filed in July 2022, it alleges that he solicited an investment in GWG L bonds, described in the claim as “speculative, illiquid, unrated subordinated debt instruments” that are now in default. The complaint alleges that his firm, LifeMark Securities, violated FINRA Rules and the SEC’s Regulation Best Interest. It also alleges negligence, negligent supervision, breach of contract, and vicarious liability in connection with the investments. The pending complaint alleges damages of $154,500.

His credentials include the passage of five securities industry qualifying exams: the General Securities Principal Examination, or Series 24; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the Uniform Combined State Law Examination, or Series 66; and the Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination, or Series 65.
