Heather O’Neill Fairbanks: Beacon Pointe Advisor Faces $250K Complaint

Skokie, Illinois financial advisor Heather O’Neill Fairbanks (CRD# 2135206) recently received an investor complaint alleging that she misappropriated funds. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and Securities and Exchange Commission records show that the former FSC Securities broker is registered as an investment advisor with Beacon Pointe Advisors.

Ms. O’Neill Fairbanks’ BrokerCheck report discloses one investor complaint. Filed in December 2024, it alleges that as a representative of FSC Securities Corporation, she misappropriated funds. The pending complaint alleges damages of $250,000.

Beacon Pointe Advisors’ website includes a profile of Ms. O’Neill Fairbanks that describes her experience as a Partner and Managing Director at the firm. “Heather has focused on retirement planning and building trust and confidence in her client relationships, while providing personalized service based on each client’s needs,” it explains. “Prior to joining Beacon Pointe, Heather founded Midwest Financial Advisors Group, a full-service planning and investment advisory firm (which merged with Beacon Pointe in 2023). In addition to managing the firm, she played an integral part in the investment research process and creating customized planning solutions for each client.”

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and the Securities and Exchange Commission, Heather O’Neill Fairbanks holds 33 years of securities industry experience. Based in Skokie, Illinois, she has been registered as an investment advisor with Beacon Pointe Advisors since 2023. Her past registrations include FSC Securities Corporation (1998-2023), Michigan Financial Advisors (2010-2020), Strategic Financial Designs (2018-2019), Linsco/Private Ledger Corporation (1996-1998), American Express Financial Advisors (1991-1996), and IDS Life Insurance Corporation (1991-1996). Her credentials include the passage of five securities industry qualifying exams: the Municipal Securities Principal Examination, or Series 53; the General Securities Principal Examination, or Series 24; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; and the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63.
