Negligence Complaint Against Newbridge Advisor Jeffrey Eglow

Boca Raton financial advisor Jeffrey Eglow (CRD# 1299960) has received an investor complaint alleging six-figure damages. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is a broker and investment advisor with Newbridge Securities Corporation, having previously been registered with SunTrust Financial Services.

Mr. Eglow’s BrokerCheck report discloses multiple investor complaints. The most recent, filed in May 2022, alleges that as a representative of Newbridge Securities Corporation, he was negligent and breached his fiduciary duty with regard to alternative investment products. The pending complaint alleges damages of $250,000.

In a statement on the May 2022 complaint’s disclosure, Mr. Eglow wrote that he denies “all allegations” contained in the claim. “[T]he client reviewed the prospectus with her outside counsel and they both approved the purchase and understood the risk of these securities,” he added, “and the client later wanted to purchase more of these securities but was unable to do as it would have exceeded the Newbridge guidelines.”

An earlier complaint, filed in 2017, alleged that as a representative of SunTrust Investment Services, he over-charged a client for trades. The complaint reached a settlement of $48,758.

A third complaint, filed in 2016, alleged that Mr. Eglow recommended unsuitable unit investment trusts in or around 2011, while he was a representative of SunTrust Investment Services and Wells Fargo. The complaint reached a settlement of $115,000. He wrote in a statement on the claim that he “categorically” denied the allegations and did not contribute to the settlement.

A fourth complaint, filed in 2015, alleged that he misrepresented the terms and provisions of two variable annuities while he was at Wells Fargo Advisors. The complaint reached a settlement of $3,205.73.

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Jeffrey Eglow holds 25 years of securities industry experience. Based in Boca Raton, Florida, he has been a broker and investment advisor with Newbridge Securities Corporation since 2017. His past registrations include SunTrust Investment Services (Delray Beach, Florida; 2015-2017), Wells Fargo Advisors (Boca Raton, Florida; 2012-2015), Morgan Keegan & Company (Palm Beach, Florida; 2019-2012), Morgan Stanley Smith Barney (Palm Beach, Florida; 2009-2010), Morgan Stanley & Company (Palm Beach, Florida; 2007-2009), FIA Capital Group (Short Hills, New Jersey; 1991-1992, 1994-1998), CCC Advisors (New York, New York; 1990-1992), and Drexel Burnham Lambert (1985-1990).
