Florham Park, New Jersey financial advisor John Micera (CRD# 1255342) recently received an investor complaint alleging that his advice resulted in damages exceeding $2 million. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is currently registered as a broker and an investment advisor with RBC Capital Markets.
Mr. Micera’s BrokerCheck report discloses one recent investor complaint. Filed in March 2024, it alleges that as a representative of RBC Capital Markets, he recommended unsuitable investments in “high risk, illiquid, high commission/fee structured” notes. The pending complaint alleges damages of $2,275,000.
RBC Capital Markets’ website includes a profile of Mr. Micera that describes him as a Managing Director of The Micera-Kay Investment Group, a practice within the firm. Another page describes the group’s approach to wealth management. “The Micera-Kay Investment Group will work closely with you to offer a set of personalized solutions designed to help you accumulate, protect, distribute, and transfer your wealth,” it states. “Each plan is based on a client’s unique objectives and circumstances, including tax efficiency, time horizons, and risk tolerance. According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, John Micera holds 39 years of securities industry experience. Based in Florham Park, New Jersey, he has been a broker and an investment advisor registered with RBC Capital Markets since 2002. His previous registrations include Tucker Anthony (Boston, Massachusetts; 1985-2002) and Gabriele Hueglin & Cashman (1984-1985). His credentials include the passage of four securities industry qualifying exams: the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63; and the Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination, or Series 65.
