A recent investor complaint against Bloomfield Hills, Michigan financial advisor Mark Beck (CRD# 6665794) alleges that his advice resulted in six-figure damages. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is currently registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Ameriprise Financial Services.
Mr. Beck’s BrokerCheck report discloses one investor complaint. Filed in February 2024, it alleges that as a representative of Comerica Securities, he misrepresented and recommended an unsuitable investment in a hybrid preferred security. The pending complaint alleges damages of $149,476.40.
Ameriprise Financial Services’ website includes a profile page for Mr. Beck that describes him as a member of the firm’s Woodward Wealth Management practice. As it notes, his services include personalized financial advice, tailored investment recommendations, and regular meetings to review goals and progress. Another page describes Ameriprise’s experience and expertise. “Financial planners in the industry generally offer investment management, but not all investment managers offer a comprehensive approach to financial advice,” it states. “At Ameriprise, you’ll receive one-to-one personalized advice based on your individual goals and needs. Through personalized advice and our digital tools, we can help you define your goals, see your progress, review your investments and plan for the expected and unexpected.”
According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Mark Beck holds seven years of securities industry experience. Based in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, he has been a broker and an investment advisor with Ameriprise Financial Services since 2023. He was previously registered with Comerica Securities in Bloomfield Hills from 2016 until 2023. His credentials include the passage of three securities industry qualifying exams: the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; and the Uniform Combined State Law Examination, or Series 66. He is licensed in Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
