Fort Worth, Texas financial advisors Mark Connolly (CRD# 4443644), Donna Bromfield-Day (CRD# 5480459), and Amanda Sosa (CRD# 5526300) recently received an investor complaint alleging unauthorized trades. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that they are each registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Wells Fargo.
Each representative’s BrokerCheck report discloses the same investor complaint. Filed in February 2025, it alleges that as a representative of Wells Fargo Clearing Services, they made unsuitable investments and unauthorized trades, resulting in losses. The pending complaint alleges damages of $965,252.
A number of securities industry rules prohibit brokers from making unauthorized trades. FINRA Rule 3260, for instance, proscribes discretionary trading without a customer’s prior authorization and a firm’s prior approval. Additionally, FINRA Rule 2020 stipulates that brokers shall not “effect any transaction in, or induce the purchase or sale of, any security by means of any manipulative, deceptive or other fraudulent device or contrivance.” Finally, FINRA Rule 2010 requires brokers to “observe high standards of commercial honor and just and equitable principles of trade.” Representatives who violate these rules may be held liable for damages and/or subject to disciplinary action.
Wells Fargo’s website includes a profile of Mr. Connolly in which he describes his practice’s approach to working with its clients. “Our team of Financial Advisors can provide a full range of financial products and services, from helping you select individual investments to developing a retirement plan,” it explains. “We have access to a broad array of company resources — including research analysts and economic and market experts who help us make informed investment recommendations based on your needs.”
According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Mark Connolly holds 23 years of securities industry experience. He has been registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Wells Fargo Clearing Services and Wells Fargo Advisors, respectively, since 2008. Ms. Bromfield-Day and Ms. Sosa, meanwhile, have been registered with the firm since 2014. All three representatives are based in Fort Worth, Texas. (Information current as of April 13, 2025.)
