Russellville, Alabama financial advisor Robert Jones (CRD# 4469629) recently received an investor complaint alleging that his conduct resulted in damages of $300,000. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Edward Jones.
Mr. Jones’ BrokerCheck report discloses two investor complaints. The most recent, filed in June 2024, alleges that as a representative of Edward Jones, he failed to follow instructions to remove a power-of-attorney from the account. The pending complaint alleges damages of $300,000.
An earlier investor complaint, filed in 2014, alleged that as an Edward Jones representative, he misrepresented material facts related to mutual funds. The complaint reached a settlement of $3,762.
Various FINRA rules prohibit the conduct alleged in the complaints against Mr. Jones. FINRA Rule 2020, for instance, stipulates that no broker shall “effect any transaction in, or induce the purchase or sale of, any security by means of any manipulative, deceptive or other fraudulent device or contrivance.” FINRA Rule 2010, meanwhile, states that FINRA-associated persons must “observe high standards of commercial honor and just and equitable principles of trade,” which generally means that they may not fail to follow a customer’s instructions. Brokers who violate these rules may be held liable for damages.

Based in Russellville, Alabama, he has been registered as a broker and an investment advisor with Edward Jones since 2002.
