Tom Baer: $135K Complaint Against TBaer Wealth Advisor

Erie, Pennsylvania financial advisor Tom Baer (CRD# 1663820) recently received an investor complaint alleging that he recommended unsuitable investments. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records show that he is a broker with Arkadios Capital and an investment advisor with Arkadios Wealth Advisors, as well as a representative of TBaer Wealth Management.

Mr. Baer’s BrokerCheck report discloses one investor complaint. Filed in July 2024, it alleges that as a representative of Arkadios Capital, he recommended an unsuitable investment in structured income notes. The pending complaint alleges unspecified damages, noting that the original investment was $135,000.

TBaer Wealth Management’s website includes a profile of Mr. Baer that describes his background and experience. “His sound, conservative guidance and tax-savings strategies have helped hundreds of clients increase their income, save on taxes, and protect their assets using ‘Safer Money Solutions,’” it explains. “Tom is passionate about ‘Safer Money Solutions’ and he set up his practice to be different. His ultimate objective is to educate his clients about safer money options (products) which provide a reasonable rate of return. He’s commited [sic] to helping clients reach their financial goals using a 5-Step Educational Process.”

Elsewhere, the firm describes its mission and services. “Our mission is to get to know and understand your needs, wants, and long-term goals,” it states. “We want to help you develop, implement, and monitor a strategy that’s designed to address your individual situation… From managing debt to saving for college to retirement, these personal finance challenges can be overwhelming. Our commitment is to utilize all of our resources to help you pursue your goals.”

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Tom Baer holds 37 years of securities industry experience. Based in Erie, Pennsylvania, he has been registered as a broker with Arkadios Capital and an investment advisor with Arkadios Wealth Advisors since 2022. His past registrations include Kalos Capital, Madison Avenue Securities, Cadaret Grant & Company, Mony Securities Corporation, and the Mutual Life Insurance Company of New York. His credentials include the passage of four securities industry qualifying exams: the General Securities Representative Examination, or Series 7; the Securities Industry Essentials Examination, or SIE; the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, or Series 63; and the Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination, or Series 65. He is licensed in Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Missouri, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Virginia. (Information current as of August 4, 2024.)
